Hair that is protected by a lipid layer is less prone to absorb water, decreasing damage to cuticles. Over-coloring and over-styling can diminish hair’s natural levels of 18-MEA, which do not reproduce once depleted from damaged strands. By infusing hair shafts with an 18-MEA derivative, the appearance of shine and resilience can be restored.
